mai 2012: inspired by the Amrican painter Norman Rockwell
Inspired by the American painter Norman Rockwell I decided to make a series with my youngest son Sven being a perfect model.
Norman Rockwell (February 3, 1894 – November 8, 1978) was a 20th-century American painter and illustrator.
His works enjoy a broad popular appeal in the United States for their reflection of the American Culture.
Rockwell is most famous for his cover illustrations of everyday life
Scenarios he created for the Saturday Evening Post magazine and other magezines for more than four decades.
I really love his work getting the story telling element presented superbly into his wonderful drawings.
So with this in mind I asked my youngest son Sven ( 8 years ) to play the model for me.
Working in our small living room he acted perfectly. We found some old stuff in our house and used that as props.
Sven came up with his own ideas and poses.
So it was great working with such an ideal model …

I love this series. I also LOVE the work of Norman Rockwell and have wanted to take photographs in the Rockwell style. Your work truly embodies the spirit of his work. The techniques are “perfect”. Did you teach yourself this technique through trial and error, or is there some guidance you can give. Are you only using Photoshop or do you also incorporate illustrator. Again—thanks for the awe inspiring work. I am very new to photography and the path seems overwhelming. Your work gives me hope and inspiration.

I learned the techniques myself and since Norman Rockwell is an artist pur sang.
