Peter Kemp is named 2012 Hasselblad Masters Finalist in category Up & Coming.
Hasselblad is one of the most prestigious camera makers in history.  Known for its technical precision and unrivaled quality.

celebrating the best in both established and rising photographic talent.”

Op

Peter Kemp’s fotowerk bestaat uit verhalende, geënsceneerde foto’s met een glimlach. Kemp is freelance fotograaf uit Delft.

Het leven van vandaag trekt als een sneltrein aan iedereen voorbij.
Met zijn foto’s probeert Kemp juist het tegenovergestelde te bereiken. Hij wil de tijd even stilzetten. De kijker ‘vangen’ in zijn wereld. Mogelijk creëert de kijker zelf een verhaal.

Alle details zijn, lang voordat de camera klikt, bedacht door Kemp. In eerste instantie een kleurig plaatje,
waarin bij nadere inspectie meer lijkt te gebeuren.
De modellen zijn Kemps sterren in kleine verhaaltjes.
Licht speelt een belangrijke rol in zijn foto’s.
Wonend in Delft, de stad waar ooit Johannes Vermeer zijn kunstwerken schilderde, is Kemp een bewonderaar van deze Delftse grootmeester.

Peter Kemp is een van de 10 finalisten in de category Up & Coming van de Hasselblad Masters Award 2012.
Dit is één van de meest prestigieuze prijzen in de fotowereld.
